Midface Lift Surgery

Midface Lift dr fevzi kunter erten

Midface lift surgery is performed through an incision made at the lower eyelid, just below the eyelashes. The midface tissue is lifted from the bone and suspended upwards, anchored to the periosteum of the cheekbone. It is ideal for patients who are planning lower eyelid surgery due to excess skin and who also have midface sagging.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Generally suitable for patients over the age of 30 with midface sagging, puffiness, and excess skin in the lower eyelids.

Patients with significant excess skin who actually need a full face and neck lift may not be satisfied with only a midface lift.

It is an operation that lasts about 120 minutes. Since tissues are lifted from the bone, general anesthesia is preferred.

Recovery is faster compared to full face and neck lift. Patients are usually discharged on the same day. Return to work and social life is possible after about 5 days. However, some swelling and bruising may occur in the first few days. Swelling usually subsides within a few weeks.

Although tissues are securely suspended to the periosteum, lifestyle and genetic factors play a major role in longevity. Since the SMAS layer under the skin is also lifted, the effect can last around 10 years. If the patient continues skin quality treatments or combines with fillers or fat injections in case of volume loss, this period may be extended.

Although scars are usually well hidden, in some patients they may be more visible. Early complications such as bleeding may also occur and may require additional treatments.

Yes, they can.

Since it lifts the sagging tissue above, some improvement can be seen. However, the main cause of the nasolabial fold is volume loss in the nasal root and upper jaw. Therefore, fillers or fat injections should be combined for optimal results.

Yes, especially if there is volume loss in the face, combining both provides much more effective results.

Heavy exercise and fitness are not recommended for 6–8 weeks. Light exercise and walking can be started after 10 days.
